Illustration of my dragon princess character for my portraiture class. Drawn during my senior year at CCAD.
"Alphabet" illustration for my Illustration Portfolio Projects class. We were tasked to draw 26 different illustrations tied to a central theme, each beginning with a new letter. I chose to do a villain centered theme because of my love of the horror genre. Each character is from a different horror movie, TV show, youtube ARG, or internet creepypasta.
This project was called "Art for Social Change". We were required to create an artwork based on any social commentary of our choosing and post the artwork onto social media. My artwork was called "We Lost Our Little Boy", based on the feeling many transgender people have when coming out to their families. Many parents of transgender children/adults have a feeling of "mourning" surrounding the transition, while ignoring the feelings of the transgender person in question. I posted this artwork onto TikTok, gaining 84.1k views, 26.5 likes, and 156 comments. Every comment was either a transgender person or a family/friend of a transgender person expressing their feelings surrounding the artwork.
Illustration process of a "50 Object" project for my Illustration Markets class. We had to include 50 unique objects to the illustration. My original idea was a 70's conversation pit "key party" setting, but I felt that the setting was a little mild for my art block I was experiencing at the time. I turned the setting into a science fiction setting, with two aliens of different species sitting in their 70's-esque conversation pit. The perspective also changed by the end of the designing process.
